In a historic move, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 600 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the first-ever category-specific Express Entry draw targeting candidates in the agriculture and agri-food occupations. To be eligible, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 354.

IRCC’s decision to focus on candidates with experience in the agriculture and agri-food sector, including agricultural service contractors, farm supervisors, and retail and wholesale butchers, aims to address the sector’s demand for skilled talent across the country.

This draw marks the third Express Entry draw of the week. On September 27, a separate draw invited 500 candidates proficient in French, with a minimum CRS of 472. Prior to that, on September 26, a broad-reaching draw invited 3,000 candidates across all programs, requiring a minimum CRS score of 504.
